back in black

I saw an awesome rainbow on the way to work this morning and I decided to take that as an omen of good things to come. I rolled into work today a little after 11 a.m. because I just flew in this morning from Seattle and took the wrong train, twice, on my way back from the airport. Laugh if you will, but I shared a cab with a guy who did the same thing!
So my five day hiatus in the Evergreen state was too short as always. The first thing I thought of when I got back was, wow, the weather really is better in California and that is nothing to sneeze at. I like sunny days in November. I also like the fact that no matter how cold it gets here, it never feels as cold as Washington, which in turn never feels as cold as Baltimore or Chicago or Detroit (reason #1556 why the other side of this country sucks-- no offence to anyone who lives there and likes it).
My new fav song is called "Relax" and it's fun Mana's latest album, Amar es Combatir (To love is to combat). My favorite line says "pero por dios, en mi tierra nadien se raja" (but by god, in my land no one backs down). The land in reference is Jalisco, Mexico's home of the brave. The back of my Ipod reads "No te rajes," which means "Don't back down," the regional saying of Jalisco, my parents native state. Anyway, listen to the song, it rocks!
