Cansada

Being at work today is like torture. First, it's a "writing day," which means that I have done all my reporting on a story and it's time to just crank out the story. I've been doing this for hours already and as any writer who gives a shit about quality will tell you, writing is hard even if you love doing it. Second, I only slept fours hours last night because I only slept about five hours the night before and proceeded to take a three-hour nap yesterday that of course, kept me from falling asleep at my normal hour last night. What a complicated life I lead.
I'm reading a book that I don't think has been released to the public yet (one of the many perks of working at a newspaper). It's called Lengua Fresca and at about 100 pages into it, I think it's fantastic.
I spent most of my weekend bonding with some LTA sisters from San Jose State. Lots of fun yes, but sorority weekends always seem to equal no sleep or so little sleep you can't function the next day.
Friday I'm taking a day trip to Sacramento. The reason is top secret right now. Saturday my good pal Jose Romero of the Seattle Times is coming to visit and we are going to party like it's 1999 in San Fran. Next Tuesday, I will board a plane from Oakland to Seattle for like, the 1,000th time and begin what should be an awesome five-day vacay with the Fam.
My new obsession: eating pomegranates. It's labor intensive and time-consuming, but I love eating them, especially while I'm watching TV because then I feel productive.
