Testing the water

I finished reading an article about marathon swimmer Diana Nyad, who was able to swim from Cuba to Florida when she was in sixties and after several failed attempts. I was fascinated by her story and her dedication to discipline and strategic approach to achieving her dream. It reminds me that my struggles are do minuscule in the grand scheme of things. My life's dream: write a book. Thousands of people write books every day -- some, maybe most, of them bad. Why haven't I at least finished a book,even a bad one, even after failed attempts? There is no satisfactory answer other than to take action, test the waters, swim to Florida.
